only way you could seriously desire such a thing as "queer culture" is if you are white, and therefore think of yourself as having no culture to speak of, because whiteness is not a culture, but the negation of culture
@mosttoast I've only been loosely following this thread because it's one of those ideas that tries to solve one problem by introducing a lot of complication that only gets worse the more you look at it. So it wouldn't surprise me if that's already been done.
I should be clear, this suggestion was made by someone involved in the #OpenStreetMap project, so it's not like this was an outside unsolicited request. Just some really badly thought out spitballing.
I can only see this as a net negative. For one, a lot of names in Wikidata are not canonical names, but names of #Wikipedia entries for Wikipedia's convenience. So doing so would fail on-the-ground verifiability in a lot of cases.
Plus, making our database dependent on an external database is also problematic.
if you think that blocking landlords from entering courthouses resembles anti abortion protests, i invite you to look at the state of abortion access in the US as it currently exists compared to 30 years ago
isn't it cool how the Dutch are still doing soft colonialism via Dutch Shell Oil company's influence being embedded into the Nigerian government to this very day
I propose the following political action: mail hentai to the president.
-Printing hentai at the local library financially supports your local library.
-mailing hentai to the president supports the usps
-the president's aides have to wade waist deep through hentai
-suggests alternative systems of governance
-you can send hentai to any president/all presidents!
-we can make a holiday out of it!
-it's definitely praxis
personal reflections that include mention of anti-Blackness and horrible violence
Listening to really meta theoretical stuff has been the only thing that's "helped". It's not a distraction, but being reminded there are others who understand the depths of anti-Blackness does offer some consolation.
I made bostonmusic.online so that makes me very cool
