"The Black Inmate Commissary Fund (BICF) is built upon the foundation of abolition of the current carceral state, which disproportionately affects Black communities. BICF’s mission is to divest from the current carceral state by reinvesting in the Black incarcerated community through building agency, equity, opportunity, rehabilitation, and restorative justice.
BICF functions as a mutual aid organization out of Atlanta, Georgia, providing aid and programming to Black individuals and families affected by mass incarceration and homelessness in the South. BICF redistributes resources and empowers currently and formerly incarcerated through commissary deposits and book donations, family assistance stipends, and re-entry and rehabilitation support and empowerment programs."

The Jimquisition – Why It's Morally Okay To Pirate All Of Sony's Games
Jim Sterling is still pretty much the only person I know bringing actual ethics to game journalism.

The guillotine is not a symbol of liberation.

What is governance? To what degree are leaders within a governing institution subject to its rules? We use this framework to discuss the unexpected announcement of RMS's re-appointment to the FSF board.
Reminder that Alcoholics Anonymous is a Christian faith, not science, based organization that was founded in the 30s at a time when we understood almost nothing about the actual mechanical function of the brain and addiction, and that their 12 steps have become so ingrained in the US medical system and culture that most people and medical professionals dont realize there are other better researched options available now.
And this will be a huge service sector unionization win, probably the biggest since UPS in the 90's--this could be a template for the industry, which is seeing drives in multiple sectors from food and retail to programming. This could be a dam that breaks, especially if the PRO act passes (which could clear the way for workers oppressed by the gig industry and other companies that use the independent contractor scam [stares intensely at unionization drives bubbling within FedEx])
